Advice to Students: Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! Say hi to someone new, speak up in class, stay open minded and share your ideas proudly. The Friars Foundation Program is an amazing way to dive headfirst into college life, make friends, and start building your PC experience. You’ll get out what you put in, so give it your all, have fun, and don’t forget to enjoy the little moments along the way.

Tariq Jamal ’25G
Complex Director, Student Affairs Liaison
Advice to Students: Taking the next step into college can seem overwhelming, stressful, and a big change. But do not fear because you have the support around you to make you be successful and become the leader you aspire to be. Do not hesitate to ask questions as asking them will only make you better.

Jeimmy Alonzo
Assistant Coordinator, Friar Foundations Program
Advice to Students: You belong here. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, explore your path, and take things one step at a time, because college is something you learn how to do, not something you’re expected to already know.

Katie Fernandes
Assistant Dean/Director of Academic Coaching & Retention Programs
Advice to Students: Ask for help early and often — it’s a smart way to learn, not a sign of weakness. Stay open, stay curious, and use the resources around you to build confidence and momentum.
